Sending a push notification shouldn't require a mobile engineering degree

Every existing solution assumes you're building a consumer app. You just want a ping when your cron job finishes, your payment comes in, or your script completes.

Firebase is built for consumer apps

FCM requires an Android/iOS project, a service account JSON, device token management, and platform-specific code for every SDK. That's days of setup for a script that just needs to say "done".

APNs means an Apple developer account

Sending to iPhone directly via APNs requires a paid Apple developer account, certificate management, and a persistent TLS connection. Overkill for a founder who just wants to know when Stripe charges fail.

Email and Slack aren't push notifications

Email gets buried. Slack requires you to open the app. A push notification lands on your lock screen — you see it instantly, even at 3am, without context-switching.

Notifications built to be acted on, not just seen

Every notification NotiLens delivers includes the context you need and the actions you want — right from your lock screen.

  • Notification types: info, success, warning, important, urgent
  • Acknowledge (ACK) directly from the notification
  • Remind Me Later — get re-pinged without losing context
  • Notes & comments for your team
  • Works on iOS, Android & Web

One HTTP call. Instant push notification on your phone.

NotiLens handles all the mobile infrastructure — APNs, FCM, device registration, token management — so your code just makes one call and moves on.

One line from anywhere

Call nl.notify('event', 'message') from a Python script, a Node.js webhook, a cron job, or a raw HTTP POST — the notification arrives on your phone in seconds.

iOS, Android & Web — already set up

Download the NotiLens app, subscribe to a topic, and you're done. No device tokens to manage, no certificate rotation, no separate FCM and APNs configuration. It just works.

Actionable — not just a beep

Every notification arrives with a priority level, Acknowledge (ACK) button, Remind Me Later, and notes & comments. You can act on it right from your lock screen without opening a dashboard.

The same one-liner in every language

Pick your language. Copy. Done. No SDKs to install if you don't want to — a plain HTTP POST works from anything.

# pip install notilens
import notilens
nl = notilens.init(name="my-app", token="YOUR_TOKEN", secret="YOUR_SECRET")

# Payment received — ping yourself instantly
nl.notify('payment.received', 'Payment received — $299')

Simple push notifications — common questions

Do I need to build a mobile app to send push notifications? +
No. NotiLens provides the mobile app — you just download it on your phone. Your code sends a notification via the NotiLens API or SDK, and it shows up instantly on any device subscribed to that topic. No APNs certificates, no FCM project, no app store.
What languages and platforms does NotiLens support? +
NotiLens has official SDKs for Python, Node.js, Go, PHP, Ruby, Rust, and Java. It also works from any language or tool that can make an HTTP POST request — including shell scripts, cURL, Make.com, Zapier, n8n, and CI/CD pipelines.
How is this different from sending an email or Slack message? +
Push notifications arrive on your phone's lock screen immediately — no app to open, no inbox to check. They're better than email for time-sensitive signals (payment failed, server down) and better than Slack for after-hours alerts you need to see right away.
Can multiple people receive the same push notification? +
Yes. On the Push plan, up to 1 person per topic can be notified. Upgrade to Pro ($29/mo) to notify up to 2 people per topic, or Team ($99/mo) for up to 10 — useful for shared on-call coverage or co-founder pairs.
What is ACK (Acknowledge) and why does it matter? +
ACK lets you confirm from the notification itself that you've seen and handled an alert — without opening a dashboard. If you don't ACK within a set time, NotiLens can re-notify you or escalate to a teammate. It turns a passive ping into a traceable action.
Is the Push plan really just $20 per year? +
Yes — $20 billed once annually (~$1.67/mo). It includes unlimited topics, 1,000 pushes per month, 2 devices, iOS/Android/Web, ACK, Remind Me Later, and Notes & comments. No monthly billing option for the Push plan — it's designed as a low-friction annual tier.
