MCP

The NotiLens MCP server lets AI agents query your event streams and alert history — no API keys in prompts, no custom tooling needed.

Overview

What This Integration Does

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) allows your AI agents, scripts, or automation tools to send notifications directly to NotiLens topics. Each topic has a unique token and secret key for secure delivery.

Works with GitHub, Shopify, Zapier, Make, custom apps, internal tools, CRMs, and more.

Setup

1. Create a NotiLens Topic

  1. Open the NotiLens app.
  2. Create a new topic in Custom Integrations or the relevant provider.
  3. Give the topic a title and optional description.
  4. Copy the generated topic token and secret key.

One user can have multiple topics for different projects, repos, or scenarios.

Configuration

2. Configure MCP in Your AI Agent

Add the NotiLens topic(s) to your AI agent’s mcpServers configuration.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "NotiLens-GitHub": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://www.notilens.com/mcp/<TOPIC_TOKEN>?secret=<TOPIC_SECRET>"
    },
    "NotiLens-Shopify": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://www.notilens.com/mcp/<TOPIC_TOKEN>?secret=<TOPIC_SECRET>"
    }
  }
}

Each topic has its own token and secret. You can configure multiple topics for different projects.

Sending Notifications

3. Send Notifications via MCP

Use the tools/call method to send notifications.

{
  "method": "tools/call",
  "params": {
    "name": "notify",
    "arguments": {
      "title": "Server Alert",
      "message": "CPU usage exceeded 80% for more than 5 minutes.",
      "type": "urgent",
      "event": "cpu_high",
      "image_url": "https://example.com/images/alert.png",
      "open_url": "https://dashboard.example.com/servers/123",
      "download_url": "https://dashboard.example.com/servers/log.pdf",
      "tags": "prod, AWS_inst_id",
      "meta": "{\"server_id\": \"srv_123\", \"threshold\": 80, \"current_usage\": 92.5}",
      "is_actionable": true
    }
  }
}

Use tools/list to discover all active configurations. Use tools/call to trigger a notification using any of your configurations.
